Bio of Marcus Kindley

Marcus Kindley was born in Guilford County, North Carolina. He is Co-Founder and CEO of Intercarolina Financial Services, a full service brokerage firm founded in 1987. Mr. Kindley was the first President of the North Carolina Association of Securities Dealers, and is a registered General Securities Principal, Municipal Securities Principal, and Registered Representative.
Mr. Kindley received a Batchelor of Arts Degree in History with a minor in the Classic Languages (Latin and Greek) from the University of North Carolina at Asheville where he was on the Dean's List his junior and senior years and has been a member of its alumni board. He also attended the Masters Degree Program at UNC-G in History/ Economics.

Mr. Kindley has served as Chairman of the Guilford County Republican Party for three terms from 2001 until 2007 and Vice Chairman from 1999-2001 was a precinct Chairman prior to 1999. In addition, he served on the Executive Board of the Sixth Congressional District and the State Executive Committee of the North Carolina Republican Party serving on the State Platform committees and Plan of Organization Committees. He is the founder of the Informed Voters of North Carolina, a PAC dedicated to promoting Republican Candidates. In the 2000 election the Informed Voters of NC had a headquarters with over 40 volunteers advocating for Republican candidates. He attended the 2000 Republican Convention where George W. Bush was nominated for President, and was an invited guest to the North Carolina Electoral College of 2001 where the votes were cast to elect George Bush as the 43rd President of the United States.  In 2004 Mr. Kindley had the privilege to lead Guilford County’s election efforts with 350 volunteers who turned out 77% of the Republicans in the rural precincts and 72% in the City.

In addition the Guilford county GOP made contributions of eight thousand dollars ($8,000) to both Steve Troxler’s campaign to win his election and a county Commissioner, Trudy Way who fought the results of 2004 until 2006. This came from the fundraising ability of the Guilford GOP under Mr. Kindley’s leadership.
Mr. Kindley was elected a delegate from the North Carolina Sixth Congressional District to the 2004 Republican National Convention held in New York City.
He had the "Straight Talk" Radio show on WGOS 1070am with Dusty Dunn every other Thursday at 9:00am. From 1999 until 2007 the show reached over 20,000 listeners and has been on the air since 1999. Currently Mr. Kindley is a guest on The Morning Beat 106.3 fm with Curtis Wright in Wilmington N.C. every Wednesday morning from 6:30 - 7am, reaching over 500,000 people and rated number #3 in the market from Jacksonville, NC to Myrtle Beach SC.

Mr. Kindley served on the Northeast Guilford County Planning Board, the Guilford County Advisory Board on Environmental Quality, and was Founder of the McLeansville Community Association, a group dedicated to promoting the McLeansville area and Eastern Guilford County.  He is the Chairman of the Eastern Guilford County Development Association a non-profit organization founded to provide housing for the elderly; He was also a Past-President of the McLeansville Lions Club for District 31-D.
Mr. Kindley is a member of the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church where he is a certified Lay-minister, teaches the Ervin Sunday School Class, the Disciples Bible Course, and serves as Chairman of the Church Council which oversees the administration of the entire 1000 member church. Mr. Kindley also serves on the Board of the Guilford County Jail Ministry, and he conducts services at the Guilford County prison farm bi-monthly.
